Tips For New Spa Clients
If you are visiting a spa for your first time you may not know what to expect or what is expected of you. At Life Essentials Day Spa we want our clients to enjoy their time with us to the fullest. At the end of each treatment our goal is to see a happier, more relaxed you. Below are a few tips to help you get the most out of your spa treatment.
Shower. If you are having a massage treatment, showering before you come helps relax you and prepares your body for the oils the therapist will use. If you don’t have time to go home and shower before your treatment, ask your spa if you can come in early to shower first.
Show up on time. Massage therapists are generally booked with appointments that run back to back with approximately 10 minutes between appointments for therapists to change sheets and prepare the room for the next client. If you show up late for an appointment in most cases the therapist will not be able to extend your session so you end up paying full price for a shorter massage. We recommend coming in at least ten minutes early so you can check in and relax before your appointment without feeling rushed.
Remove make-up. If you are having a facial, removing your make-up first will save time during your session so there is more time for facial scrubs, masks and moisturizers. If you are having a massage, your massage therapist may work on your face. Women who do wear make-up often come out with mascara smudged and smeared on their faces. If you don’t have time to remove your make-up before you come in, be sure to arrive a few minutes early to remove your make-up at the spa.
Bring a hair tie for longer hair. With both facials and massages, long hair can get in the way. Wearing your hair in a loose bun on top of the head helps keep your hair out of the way during your massage.
Turn off your cell phone and electric devices. Your spa service is all about you. We want you to relax without any distractions. Shut out the world for an hour or two so you can fully focus on your body and your pampering. At Life Essentials Day Spa we have a ‘no cell phone policy’ that also serves to prevent other clients from having their massages disrupted.
Talk to your therapist. Your therapist should always take a few minutes to discuss your expectations and needs during your service. Let them know if you have any sore spots or places you don’t want touched. If at any point during your service you are uncomfortable or not happy with your service, please talk to your therapist and explain what they can do to improve your service. Communication is the key to a great massage. If you have questions about your upcoming service, do not hesitate to ask ahead of time or ask when you arrive. Remember, your spa service is about your relaxation, your pampering and your enjoyment. If you would like to book a massage or facial, please contact Life Essentials in Steamboat Springs. We have been voted number one for our spa experience and our therapists. Your pampering is our first priority.
